Press Release
Run-off Primary Election Voter Roll Nearly 1.9 Million HOUSTON – March 31, 2006 – Harris County Voter Registrar Paul Bettencourt announces that his office has delivered the county’s 2006 Run-off Primary Election voter roll of more than 1,883,049 eligible voters to County Clerk Beverly Kaufman’s office in time for early voting, which begins Monday, April 3. “Registered voters in Harris County who did not vote in the March primary are still eligible to vote in the run-off election,” Bettencourt said. “While those who voted in last month’s primary cannot switch parties in the run-off, this election is a continuation or another opportunity to ‘make your voice heard’ regarding your choice for candidates this November. I encourage registered voters to take advantage of the opportunity by voting early or in person on Tuesday, April 11.” The Harris County Tax Office Web site, www.hcvoter.net, is a complete resource site for registered voter information in Harris County. The Web site contains a database of all registered voters in Harris County and includes downloadable precinct-by-precinct voter rolls, voter registration cards, precinct and district maps, as well as other important information. “Visit the Tax Office Web site 24/7 at www.hcvoter.net to verify your voter registration information before going to vote,” said Bettencourt. “Remember, if you’re not registered to vote on the voter roll prior to the election, you can’t vote in either primary.” For more information, call the Harris County Tax Office Voter Registration Department at 713-368-VOTE (8683). |
